GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

The School Day

The official part of the school day starts with morning registration at 8:45 am and ends at 3:15 pm. This includes breaks but not optional before or after school activities. The total time this amounts to in a typical week is 32.5 hours.

The register is taken at 8.45 and all pupils are expected to be in class by this time. During registration the children will need to tell the teacher if they need a school lunch. There will be a copy of the menu in each classroom and in the school reception. It is essential that all children are in promptly by registration to ensure that they are ready for the school day. Late arrivals will be monitored and reported.

Morning session 8.45am – 12 noon

Afternoon session 12.50pm – 3.15pm for upper school and lower school.

During the morning session there will be a break time for lower school from 10.20am – 10.40am and upper school 10.40am - 11.00am.

Children are encouraged to bring their own healthy snack (fruit or vegetables) to eat. This should be separate from their lunch box.

Children bringing a packed lunch should bring a named lunch box, which should be placed on their class trolley on their way in.
